The donor's family consented to the transplant while still dealing with their own grief on Boxing Day, plucking something positive from something awful. Skilled teams of surgeons worked for 8 hours attaching tendons, blood vessels and nerves.

In India, protests over the gang rape and murder of a 23 year old medical student, are hoping that new laws and better treatment of women will pluck something positive from something awful.

Isn't the Invisible Magic Friend just fantastic, plucking something positive from something awful. Thank the Invisible Magic Friend that the Invisible Magic Friend was around to give up a hand and then reattach it to the recipient, and that he's there in India, joining all those protesters demanding better rights for women.

With all the suffering and disillusion that the Invisible Magic Friend creates in the world, what a delight to see him occasionally salvage something positive from it. He even manages to make it look as if it's the skill and perseverance of humans who achieve these things. What a guy! Never forget that the visible bit of the Invisible Magic Friend suffered just as much as you do and for several hours.
