VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Tesh|DATE|1357904720|CONTENT|@ broga and andym; I returned about 4 years ago from 3 years in Italy and I could have behaved like the Pope - ie knelt and kissed the very soil of Britain for the BBC. A tiny amount of the licence goes to radio; I resent far more the unutterable c!*p with which television is increasingly filled than these less than 3 minutes which - combined with this site - are fun anyway. But what is worthwhile is so worthwhile and is a bargain at the price [compare the price of newspapers now]. I suspect my real problem is about cuts in their budget and nostalgia for some golden age of television drama. Nevertheless, Italian televison and what I hear of American television still makes the licence fee untterably worth it. My objection to TftD is not the 'messages' from the religious - I actully enjoy listenijng to a variety of religious voices - but the absence of the humanist/atheist contribution. I do also sometimes challenge myself - what could I say that would not sound platitudinous in under 3 mins? That does not mean to say it would not be possible - only that I recognise my own limitations. I;ve enjoyed it when 'Today' has had guest editors who have managed to put some of their idiosyncratic stamp on things. |EMAIL|lornacrossman@yahoo.co.uk|IP-ADDRESS|86.172.174.99|MODERATIONFLAG|
