VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1358264473|CONTENT|There is no religious requirement for Christians to publicly display their faith by wearing crucifixes, as there is, for example, for male Sikhs to wear turbans. Whatever one thinks of a member of a religion being required to wear a symbol of their faith, one can see they have a genuine dilemma if told to remove it. There was no dilemma here. If the crucifix was so important to the wearer, she could have worn it underneath her clothing. It smacks to me of posturing and vexatious litigation, deliberately turning herself into a victim, look at me, a poor Christian persecuted by those militant secularists.

The issue is further muddied by the fact that crosses are often worn by people simply as items of jewellery, not for religious reasons. Which renders the whole hoo-hah even more meaningless and pointless.|IP-ADDRESS|79.71.113.207|MODERATIONFLAG|
