VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1358594868|CONTENT|I would have thought that confessing to an audience of millions at least has the advantage of getting things out in the open. One can no longer pretend to be something one isnt after that. Confessing to a pastor or a priest on the other hand, knowing that the cleric is not allowed to pass the information on is a bit of a cop-out, particularly if in the Catholic tradition one is simply going to continue doing whatever it is, and then ask for absolution again and again. Confessing to a god is the greatest cop-out of all, because there will be no repercussions at all except those of ones own making. One does not even have to endure disapproving looks from the Rev Roy.

The worst kind of reformed sinner be they politician or next door neighbour is the one who goes on to find god. Converts often turn out to be far more sanctimonious, holy-book-waving and unendurable than those who have been inflicted with religion from the cradle.
