Indeed, I would venture to suggest that many Christians are not Christians at all, in as much as they seem to pay little or no attention to the words of their prophet, but are bibliolaters, worshipping a book above their god and their prophet. Undoubtedly there are some good bits in the Bible in something of that length and diversity some of it should be but a large amount of it is utter rubbish which ought not to be taken seriously by anyone with the critical sense of a five-year-old. But no, the shutters come down on all critical senses whenever you put a Christian near a bible. Some of it probably has to do with the awe in which the written word is still held. Despite the billions of words pouring out from millions of presses people still revere the written word over speech and oral tradition, and because the bible is so ancient and so famous, well that means it must be true, doesnt it? Well, erno it doesnt actually, any more than ancient methods of healing are going to work because they are ancient, or that ancient technology must be superior in some way to modern technology. And if, as is alleged, the Christian god wrote, or at least inspired, the bible then he or she or it must be seriously dysfunctional and in need of some kind of therapy.|IP-ADDRESS|79.66.218.212|MODERATIONFLAG|
