VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1359397831|CONTENT|The most depressing aspect of this is it will happen again. Perhaps not in the same way, hopefully not on the same scale, but happen it will. Genocide keeps on happening. Human beings find it very difficult to learn lessons from history, particularly as time passes and that history becomes more remote. Our lives are comparatively short, and even though the Holocaust is still within living memory, many younger people have never heard of it, not to mention those who deny it ever happened. I count myself fortunate to have lived in a democratic secular country in a comparatively peaceful time, where freedom of conscience is enshrined in law, and human rights are mostly respected. It is not the experience of the majority of people who have lived, live or will live on this planet. |IP-ADDRESS|79.71.123.20|MODERATIONFLAG|
