VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Tesh|DATE|1359555541|CONTENT|I don't mind too much about mention of film as film often is controversial and/or is a common reference point at different levels for many people . But I do wish contributors like this, especially those who like hinting at the supposed 'arrogance' of science would listen to programmes such as "The Life Scientific". It would demolish the idiotic pictures in their own mind as to what it is, what it does, how it works. I don't write that as a scientist - what I know about any science would fit easliy onto my little finger-nail; it is the attitude I love that comes through the programme. I can rarely listen to it in the morning it is broadcast but could kiss whoever invented iPlayer. Reminds me - some weeks ago some on here people mentioned the wonderful Sokal hoax - I managed to buy Sokal's "After the Hoax" from "Postscript" who deal in publisher's remainders - for 6.something down from 20, brand new,mint-condition hardback ,and an absolute joy: reproduces the orignal essay with commentary for virtually every sentence and contains many other reflective essays by him. His "Religion, Politics and Survival' in Part 3 may interest many of you. |EMAIL|lornacrossman@yahoo.co.uk|IP-ADDRESS|86.172.174.99|MODERATIONFLAG|
