VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Broga|DATE|1359895639|CONTENT|@Matt W. The comment is from Ben. But the reaction could equally well have come from my religion besotted cousin. I restrain myself in speaking with her on the rare occasions we meet - funerals, weddings etc. I follow the Epictetus doctrine: "Control of the emotions is difficult but it is empowering." The longer I stay calm the madder she becomes. She seeks me out to persuade me.

I think her vanity cannot allow her to think I have not succumbed to her. She is used to getting her way. I refuse to give my agreement to her fundamentalist opinions. Her husband has asked me not to "argue with her" as she cannot sleep after our meetings. I pointed out that she seeks me out and she always introduces the subject of religion. An opening remark from her is usually something along the lines of, "Have you changed your mind yet?" I love that "yet" with its expectation that change must come. |EMAIL|denis.watkins1@virgin.net|IP-ADDRESS|86.27.47.36|MODERATIONFLAG|
