VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1360192966|CONTENT|'What I don't think is acceptable is to vote according to someone else's conscience, to have your mind made up for you by a discredited hierarchy or a holy book.' (Rev Dr Peter)

Which neatly sums up religion as a whole. And many congratulations on your marriage-to-be Peter.

I am sure as many have already said that in a few years time people will look back on this debate and wonder what all the fuss was about. Why should anyone think a perfectly reasonable change to the law will somehow bring about the end of civilisation as we know it? It can only be some kind of mass hysteria or mass delusion.

I have never been married, but why should I begrudge anyone of either sex this kind of happiness if they have found the right partner and want to make their union permanent? I believe very strongly in freedom of choice. And, as usual, it is the religious institutions which seeks to deny people that choice.|IP-ADDRESS|79.71.121.196|MODERATIONFLAG|
