VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Broga|DATE|1360665509|CONTENT|To describe Murphy O'Connor as oily scarcely does the man justice. His very tone drips verbal grease. This TfTD was an affront not just to the listeners but to every decent person. No mention of the horrendous damage and suffering caused by Ratzinger. But, of course, the BBC is now comitted to endless pro RC propaganda and censorship of anything critical. No mention of Vatican financial scandals, homosexual rent boys being smuggled into the Vatican, priests' paedophilia, the condom debacle from Ratzinger, abortion, homosexuality, the brutish Irish nuns with their laundries worked by young female slaves.

Instead O'Connor, with apparently no sense of shame or embarassment, creates with the BBC a fantasy land where we are so lucky to have had this Pope. He even deigned to visit us (and the Vatican still owes the UK 6 million for the visit) and took the trouble to condemn the UK.

There is one very real encouragement. The priests are worried about the rise of secularism. I heard one commentator say the next Pope must have the intellect to confront the rising tide of secularism. He'll be lucky as he tries to promote his fantasies and superstitions in the face of reason.

By the way, at least the bookies Paddy Power have a sense of humour: Richard Dawkins' odds against being the next Pope are 666 - 1` |EMAIL|denis.watkins1@virgin.net|IP-ADDRESS|82.31.11.124|MODERATIONFLAG|
