VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Broga|DATE|1360750410|CONTENT|Graham: The absence of Awful Annie is welcome. I have thought for a while that the BBC religious mafia are backing off. We don't hear so many of those of the fundamentalist tendency and Annie sounded like a bigot even when she wasn't making a bigotted comment. It was there in the subtext.

The effort today was jejune. A man grasping for something to say but unable to offer anything that could be gripped by the listener. They do like throwing in references to people like Cardinal Newman. I read a biography of Newman a couple of years ago and he was an interesting man. But heaven forfend that anything interesting should appear on TfTD. That would risk making the listeners think. That would never do.

Today was thin gruel and the lead kindly light bit filled in a couple of pointless minutes but doesn't really give any guidance. While on the hymn theme, or holy whines, I think the author of Amazing Grace was a former slave ship captain. But that's OK. The wretches battened down below deck with many dying in their own excrement while the captain was at his prayers were neither white nor Christian. |EMAIL|denis.watkins1@virgin.net|IP-ADDRESS|82.27.9.64|MODERATIONFLAG|
