As there is no Thought for the Day today, we will simply have to make up our own.

There is undoubtedly a big Jewish festival coming up / today / just past (delete as applicable). This tells us it is so important to preserve tradition in order to remember things in the past because, above all else, Judaism is all about children.

As the Guru said, all religions are true (both of them) so let's invent a new one. External symbols are trivial and irrelevant so let's enforce them strictly and cause an enormous fuss when we can't display them.

Isn't the Pope just fantastic!

Christianity has always been at the forefront of democracy, religious freedom, women's rights and gay rights. (We freed the slaves you know!) No one with even a passing familiarity with history could possibly hold an alternative opinion. There's a bit in the Big Book of Magic Stuff that vaguely supports this and is clearly more important than the countless bits that say exactly the opposite.

There are some nice bits in the Koran too. Some of it is even compatible with modern, secular thinking.

Things cause other things. Bad things cause more bad things but good things can also cause good things. Sometimes bad things can cause good things and good things cause bad things. It's all part of the great cosmic computer that will cause your spirit to be reincarnated as a worm. It says so in one of the numerous Big Books of Magic Stuff.
