VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Steve|DATE|1361360245|CONTENT|I like how he said Counter-Reformation as the historical reason for the authoritarian approach, not Roman Inquisition, which was what followed as a direct consequence and is how the authoritarian approach actually worked. Maybe he thought that Counter-Reformation sounded a bit more philosophical and intellectual than Inquisition. Maybe he felt that associating Authoritarian Catholicism with the murder of over a thousand dissenters would have prejudiced the discussion a bit. Maybe hed have struggled to convince a normal, reasonable person that this side of the debate had any moral underpinning. Perhaps he even thought that the listeners would have drawn unreasonable conclusions about Benedict and JPII from the fact that this was their preferred option.

Or maybe he just forgot.|IP-ADDRESS|10.0.119.228, 217.36.222.79, 10.37.12.204|MODERATIONFLAG|
