VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Rev.Dr. John Hunt|DATE|1362414421|CONTENT|I had my Church of England baptism revoked in 2008 by announcement in the "London Gazette", [issue 58706], following legal advice obtained by Southwark Diocese.

The C of E said they could then keep a copy of the announcement with the relevant baptismal register. They couldn't simply delete the entry, as it recorded a historical fact! -- The local incumbent has since been suspended for performing sham marriages, (and presumably pocketing the proceeds).

I tried appealing to the Information Commissioner, sadly without success. Might the I.C. be more amenable these days: particularly if someone baptised R.C. (ritual child abuse!) wanted to be dissociated from the myriad scandals of global sex abuse by priests + Vatican concealment + Magdalene Laundries, etc., + two separate sets of charges of "crimes against humanity" laid against Ratzinger in 2011 at International Criminal Court in the Hague?

My own spiritual journey led me to become an ordained minister at the First Church of Atheism in 2009. ;-) -- http://FirstChurchOfAtheism.com
