VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1362415705|CONTENT|Congratulations to Giles for a hard-hitting and humbug-free analysis of the Catholic Churchs utterly untenable and bankrupt attitudes on sexuality. Its attempted repression of one of the most powerful of human instincts has resulted in misery for millions. It is anti-gay, anti-woman and anti-human. I would love to believe the Church will at last admit its mistakes and abolish the rule of celibacy along with its condemnation of gay relationships, but if the utterly complacent attitudes of OConnor are typical of those in positions of power within the Church, I wont be placing any bets on it. OConnor doesnt care about the Church being corrupt, backward-looking and abusing its power because as far as he is concerned it was founded on the moral authority of God and Jesus and will consequently last until the end of time however badly it behaves. (Exactly who it will minister to at the end of time as there are unlikely to be any humans around then he didnt say.)

The late Christopher Hitchens claimed that religion poisons everything. It has certainly poisoned and warped the now disgraced Keith OBrien and thousands like him.
