With Cyprus' banks insolvent and a run on them expected as soon as they open their doors, I'm going to examine the problem from a faith perspective, specifically a Christian faith perspective.

What we will see is that the New Tasty mint provides a detailed, step by step guide to re-capitalising Cypriot banks in a fair and just way that makes everyone happy. As always, Christianity leads the way in finding a solution to this fiscal fiasco. (Did you see what I did there - a little bit of alliteration using the words "fiscal" and "fiasco". "Fiscal" is one of those words that always makes a speaker sound as if they're more knowledgeable about money matters than they really are.)

Jesus, who was the visible bit of the Invisible Magic Friend and therefore infallible on all banking matters, gave the example of the workers who arrived late in the day and were paid the same as those who had worked the whole day. The significance for the Cypriot banking crisis is clear and needs no further explanation.

Early Christians shared all their goods among themselves but we soon put a stop to that. Early Christians were a bit crazy and thought the end of the world was coming any day now. Besides, all that sharing was a bit Commie and suspicious. Again, the relevance to preventing a run on the Cypriot banks is clear.

I'm not simply going to say that somebody should do something, or that somebody should have done something, or mention words like "profit" with a slight hint of disdain, or words like "values" without saying what those values are. No, with insight that will dazzle you, I will show you exactly who should do what in order to avert this approaching problem. So here it is, here is the solution to the current crisis in the Eurozone. Here is exactly what has to be done. This is why the Christian faith is so very relevant.

Oh dear, have we run out of time?
