VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Graham|DATE|1364548269|CONTENT|@ 8.50 Discussion on how the BBC handles religion.

BBC's Head of Fantasy & Myth very unimpressive. Tried to claim that TFTD is "Very successful & very popular". When challenged on this and asked for stats he tried to pass the buck by saying 'It's on your programme so you should know'. Sarah Montague pointed out that it's not produced by the Today prog but by his department. He had to admit that he didn't have stats to back up his claim, but was sure the Today programme had them somewhere. So- making extravagant claims whilst making no effort to present data to back it up. Sounds familiar?

He also claimed they had a "wide variety of people involved in it" (To mis-quote Douglas Adams, this must be some new definition of "wide variety" of which I was previously unaware).

When the other interviewee was asked if he thought TFTD should be dumped he said- no, but get better speakers. Amen to that.
