Completely OT (apologies): I got "first light" on my telescope last night. I couldn't get the GoTo align thingy working at first so did things manually. Sirius was beautiful and then I found Jupiter. Jupiter! And three moons! I can't believe I'd never seen them before. Amazing! The "seeing" wasn't great so I couldn't make out any features, just the disk but even so... I finally got the GoTo working and took a tour of some Messier objects. Beautiful! It was amazing looking through the scope and seeing the exact same image as Wikipedia. Summary: bloody freezing but a brilliant night. That is all.|IP-ADDRESS|81.147.65.45|MODERATIONFLAG|
