VERSION|0.5.1|SUBJECT|A Petition to the BBC's Holy Department of Invisible Magic Stuff |CONTENT|Contributions to Thought for the Day can be a bit bland. The BBC's Holy Department of Invisible Magic Stuff seems to pick only the most liberal and inoffensive representatives of their respective religions. So I thought it might be a good idea if we came up with some alternatives for them.

With the Christians we are spoiled for choice.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien (retired)

Bishop Michael James Nazir-Ali (retired)

Ann Widdecombe
Deacon Nick Donnelly
Anne Atkins (one that the BBC got right)

Regular daily contributions from any of the above would make TFTD far more entertaining than at present. Obviously The Master and Bishop Tom Butler (retired) would also have to stay.

Likewise for the Muslims.

Abu Hamza, live from his US prison cell
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

I'm a bit stuck when it comes to provocative Sikhs and Hindus, and I don't really follow orthodox Jewish radicals enough to make any sensible suggestions. I fear the Buddhists may be a lost cause.

Any suggestions anyone?|CATEGORIES|5|IP-ADDRESS|94.168.119.214|DATE|1364716702|CREATEDBY|admin
