Hi.

I want to talk to you this morning about the children's heart unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

No of course I don't. I want to talk to you about faith. My aim is to demonstrate how rational and reasonable faith in the Invisible Magic Friend is. In the way that we people of faith are renowned for, I will do this in a convincing manner that is so subtle that you will hardly even notice the progress of my argument.

It all begins with faith in surgeons and doctors. Modern medicine has a long and proven track record in curing illnesses. The surgeons that we entrust our own life and our children's life to, have spent years studying biology, chemistry and medicine. They have practised using the tools of their trade. Their performance is monitored and regulated. We therefore have faith in their skills. You will see from this that faith is a good thing. It is by having faith that we are able to see disease cured.

Similarly, we entrust our children to the teachers at our local schools. They too have been trained and have years of experience behind them. They have colleagues to help and support them when they have difficulties. Again, they are monitored and regulated to ensure a certain amount of professionalism and consistency. We have faith in teachers. Once again, we can see how important faith is. Without faith out children cannot be educated.

Some foolish, arrogant, atheists dismiss faith as blind, but as you can see, these people are foolish and arrogant for faith is not blind.

Therefore the Invisible Magic Friend exists.
