While faith is belief without evidence, trust is relying on the supposed integrity of someone to be truthful, or the supposed skill of someone to deliver the desired result.  Trust is not the same as certainty, but we tend to condemn those who have trusted without any safeguards or evidence as having been gullible or nave.
