VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|HarryR|DATE|1365585315|CONTENT|As the mormon church was an officially racially biased org until it suddenly had a revelation from the lord, just in time to comply with Civil Rights legislation, I do find it curious that a black Nigerian should be a believer and eager spokesperson.

The greatest mormon of them all - yes, Mitt Romney - might not by that time have been the equivalent of a bishop but was a senior adult male member who presumably espoused the theological belief that blacks were inferior due to being black or non-white until he heard from the elders that god had changed his mind about this.

It's almost as if the religion had just been running with the social attitudes prevalent at the time of its [strike]creation[/strike] founding until it was no longer legal to do so.

I didn't get much of a sense from the interview of what mormonism was, just a claim to follow the new testament, jesus, keep the women down, the gays in the closet or patronised and the non-mormons away from the church services presumably so they don't see the sausages being made. Does that all add up to a religion? With tax breaks and much legal immunity perhaps it does.|IP-ADDRESS|77.185.219.36|MODERATIONFLAG|
