VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Grahame|DATE|1365779877|CONTENT|I think IVF is great for a rather personal reason - our 3 1/2 month old daughter, Lyra (yes, after the heroine of the His Dark Materials trilogy) would not have been born were it not for two things:
1 IVF research leading to effective treatment (no praying to any IMF necessary). My wife does not appear in the Old Tasty mint, but was unable to conceive, so
2 Variation of the rules around Europe which meant that a suitable egg donor could be found within 3 months in Greece instead of a projected wait of 4 years in the UK (guess which country has the relevant laws and rules shaped to suit the religious representation in the House of Lords (big clue there)).

My brother, a CofE vicar, had his parishoners praying for us for a year before we found out what the problem was (again, thanks to science). Fat lot of good his / their IMF was.

At the moment, Lyra has an upset stomach. I trust medical science (and time) rather than prayer will do most to sort this out as well.|EMAIL|grahame_baker@hotmail.com|IP-ADDRESS|86.11.110.199|MODERATIONFLAG|
