VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Stonyground|DATE|1367602323|CONTENT|I recall explaining the concept of a double negative to a slightly dim girl at my old karate club who informed me that she was hungry because she hadn't had no tea. It took a while, examining the statement from several angles, but the penny did eventually drop and she got it.

With regard to Anne, I think that constantly trying to impress people with your supposedly superior education suggests insecurity of some kind. I once brought a motorbike back to life by combining the good bits of one with a seized crank, with the good bits of another with a broken gearbox. I used the bike to commute for several years and it was very reliable. I would suspect that Anne would be unable to construct a working motorcycle out of a pile of bits in the way that I did. I would also suggest that mine is a more useful skill than being able to identify trivial mistakes in other people's grammar. What would people make of me if I were to bring up the subject of my motorbike mending skills at every possible opportunity? |EMAIL|elizabeth@iww1967.wanadoo.co.uk|IP-ADDRESS|95.150.29.65|MODERATIONFLAG|
