VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Alun|DATE|1369391150|CONTENT|Agreed. everyone is pussy-footing around the issue with their talk about 'communities' and 'ideology', and something on the BBC about 'why British men become radicalized'. The plain facts seem to be that Islam is objectively a religion of intolerance, hatred and violence. We, and by 'we' I of course mean the vast majority of muslims, as well as the rest of us, would rather it wasn't, that it was actually a religion of peace; but it isn't. It is desperately in need of reform so that it fits in with the modern world, and not the world of the Dark Ages. But where is that reform to come from? It is no good our PM saying 'there is no justification for this in Islam' because, as things stand, there is. So muslims themselves, the vast majority of decent, law-abiding citizens who were unfortunate enough to have been 'born into' this belief system, need to take on the serious work of reforming it. And they seem reluctant to do so. Not that I entirely blame them, it takes courage to stand up to loons like this within their 'community' but ultimately it needs to be done, or there will be a backlash, a real clash of civilizations. And that benefits none of us.|EMAIL|alunap@mac.com|IP-ADDRESS|170.148.215.157|MODERATIONFLAG|
