VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Alun|DATE|1369398156|CONTENT|I only partially agree. I agree, in principle, that terrorism is political, but some religious views can support violent approaches to political ends more than others. Although it is certainly true tat you can find violence and warfare in any 'type' of society, it is hard to look around the world and not conclude that islam is very conducive to it. It doesn't make it 100%, and it is certainly true that most people born into that religion do not go that way, and also true that some from other backgrounds do, but it is not reasonable to fail to see a correspondence. Think of all the terrorism events in the last few years that we have had to deal with, and the current prospects. Anything in common? There are reasons for that. While it is true that there are numerous places in the holy books of islam that support violence, you can find them in other holy books too. The main difference is that islam is a very literal, fundamentalist religion; every word is supposed to be true. That is the reform I was speaking of. That reform happened for xtianity some time ago, and it took much of the viciousness out of it (not all). That same reform needs to happen in islam. The other thing is that in most religions (and explicitly in christianity) there is a separation of church an state. That is not the case in islam.|EMAIL|alunap@mac.com|IP-ADDRESS|170.148.215.157|MODERATIONFLAG|
