It's brilliant! There's all sorts of witty, intelligent, well informed people there giving talks about their books and their experience with problems and trouble spots around the world.

"Problems and trouble spots around the world?" I hear you ask. How do we solve problems and trouble spots around the world? Why that's easy, we need more religion. Wherever there are problems and trouble spots around the world, the thing that's most likely to make things better is more religion. I can't think of any conflict at any time in history that hasn't been made better by more religion.

But it's not just any old religion. Most religions are more trouble than they're worth. No, it has to be my religion. More Jesus, that's the answer to all the problems and trouble spots around the world.

Take the issue of women's rights. It seems pretty obvious to me that women's equality depends almost exclusively on more Jesus. We've been praying for women's rights for 2,000 years and it's almost worked! If that isn't proof positive of the power of talking to the Invisible Magic Friend then I don't know what is.

There's a strong link between the Hay Festival and religion. The link is this: the Hay Festival has got absolutely nothing to do with religion, therefore it would be greatly improved if it was.
