I know it's unusual for me to mention Shakespeare so I thought I'd just say something about Shakespeare. Audiences at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre would often demand that Shakespeare put on a different Shakespeare play because they weren't happy with the Shakespeare play they were watching.

This discontent at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre during plays by Shakespeare, leads me effortlessly onto the anniversary of Stravinsky's Right of Spring, or Le Sacre du printemps as it is more properly called. I will have no further need to mention Shakespeare as Shakespeare was just by way of an introduction to Stravinsky's Right of Spring, or Le Sacre du printemps as it is more properly called.

Today is the day after the centenary of the first performance of Stravinsky's Right of Spring, or Le Sacre du printemps as it is more properly called. There was a full scale riot at that performance. People were incensed by the strange music but they were also incensed by the story of a young girl dancing herself to death to appease their imaginary gods.

Have I mentioned any characters from classical Greek literature lately? I know it's unusual for me to mention characters from classical Greek literature so I thought I would. Those of you who were educated properly will doubtless recall that Iphigenia, whom you will doubtless recall was the daughter of Agamemnon, was to be sacrificed to the imaginary goddess Artemis, whom you will doubtless recall was the brother of Apollo and daughter of Zeus.

I'd just like to mention Wagner's Parsifal.

This brings me neatly to the Judeo-Christian (but not another well known Abrahamic faith) tradition. The Judeo-Christian (but not another well known Abrahamic faith) tradition describes the story of Abraham, who was prepared to sacrifice his son, Isaac, to the one, true Invisible Magic Friend because he heard the Invisible Magic Friend tell him to do it. This is a terrible story, but the Invisible Magic Friend only did it to show how completely and utterly insane some of his followers were.

And that is how you tell fantasy from reality.
