VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1370708619|CONTENT|One thing to be said in favour of getting cancer rather than the other conditions MattW mentions is that you tend to get more support in the form of Macmillan nurses, hospices, cancer centres, day centres, public donations, research and sympathy. I believe more people die of heart disease than cancer, but research, donations and support for people heart disease is nothing like as good. Alzheimer's is a ghastly condition which destroys the mind and personality, but not enough money goes into finding a cure because not enough of us care about a disease which mainly affects old people. As for those with chronic conditions like mine which can wreck your life but dont actually kill you, the NHS has bugger all to offer and benefits like DLA/PIP are being cut right back by tightening up on the eligibility for the payments, so that many disabled people will no longer qualify for them.|IP-ADDRESS|79.71.122.132|MODERATIONFLAG|
