And the big news today is that it's ten years since the first Swiss Death Cafe opened its doors.

Yes, as you eat your last spoonful of cornflakes and kiss your children on the forehead, I'd like to talk to you about death. Many of you just don't spend enough time talking about death. Some of you even think that death is the end and that there isn't really an invisible magic afterlife after all. That's just not facing up to how serious death really is.

I too, in my humble, celebrity, Christian writer way, have started a regular meeting in our local pub. It consists of us meeting together, drinking beer, and then we talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. Then we have some more beer and then we talk and talk and talk and talk and talk some more. Then we read a passage of scripture. Although not everyone present is as theologically sophisticated as wot I am, we then talk about the passage and then we talk some more. Then we have some beer and then we have some more beer. Then we talk and have more and more beer.

The bar is set pretty low at our pub meetings. (Get it? The "bar" is set pretty low? Yes, that's just the kind of wit you can expect from a celebrity, Christian writer like myself. No wonder I have so many fans on Thought For The Day.)
