Brian here, in Southampton, an associate lecturer at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity where we envision and equip Christians and their churches for whole-life missionary discipleship in the world, seek to serve them with biblical frameworks, practical resources, training and models so that they flourish as followers of Jesus and grow as whole-life disciplemaking communities. Hi.

Isn't it nice to the see the sun at last? The sky is blue, the flowers are in bloom and the countryside is beautiful. Just sit back and enjoy it. Personally, I'm taking a break from being a busy associate lecturer at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity to just relax and chill out.

The Beatles had a song about the sun.

Here comes the sun (do do do do)
Here comes the sun
And I say
Its alright

Little darling
Its been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling
It seems like years since its been here

The famous Franciscan priest, Richard Raw, didn't say anything about sunshine but he did mention something about being taught to appreciate the infinite. Well, the sky's kind of infinite, so I think that counts.

As the celebrity Christian writer John Eldredge says, isn't the sky pretty?

As Jesus, the visible bit of the Invisible Magic Friend says, consider the lilies. And the lilies are really pretty, especially on a summer's day.

It's free, it's lovely. Enjoy the British countryside! Oh, it's a lovely part of the world, isn't it? All those beautiful trees and fields and variety of birds. And you can just go there and get away from it all, away from the helter-skelter of modern life. Because we all do need our solitude, don't we? I mean, nowadays, it's not easy to find the time to... I don't know... enjoy life. Because there's always things to do. It's all so hectic, isn't it? All of us just rushing around, letting things get on top of us. [*]
