VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1373453959|CONTENT|Sarah was very concerned to tell us that she was a recent convert to Islam (as if this somehow authenticates it, or her). (Steve Ash)

Indeed. Why should embracing a particular faith be something to boast about? Not to mention one which is heavily involved in terrorism, the oppression of women and minorities, and increasingly prone to a particularly nasty form of in-fighting between its different sects. OK, Sarah would doubtless say none of this represents real Islam, but it is real enough for millions of those who suffer under the Islamic yoke. In the end, religions must be judged by what they do, not what they say they do, think they do or intend to do. I would say converts are more in need of commiserations than congratulations.

Perhaps if she comes on again, Sarah should consider apologising on behalf of her faith for its innumerable infringement of human rights and to its victims everywhere.
