The truly astonishing thing is that much of this oppression is at the hands of other religions. I know, unbelievable, isn't it?

The question we have to ask is this, why do one group of people who are convinced that they, and they alone, have access to absolute truth, feel so ill disposed towards others who are equally convinced that their beliefs are beyond question? It's a puzzling one alright. They obviously hold some distorted, crackpot version of religion. Real religion, true religion, my religion is peaceful and tolerant. It always has been, as any casual glance at a history book will reveal.

It must be something to do with their culture, something outside of proper religion that cause them to behave so badly. They obviously haven't read their scripture properly. All the scripture of all the major religions emphasise tolerance of other religions. They all urge their followers not to proselytize or enforce their will. The Sikh Gurus said this so it must be true.

What I think we need are more inter-faith buffets.
