Ranjit Singh was brave and wise and good to all religions, even Muslims. When people complained that the call to prayer was too loud, he told them, in the nicest possible way, where to go, because this intrusion into their daily lives didn't matter to him as much as pacifying a religious group who would have written him many strongly worded letters of complaint if he didn't.

Sadly, brave, wise Ranjit Singh lost one of his eyes to smallpox, but we can celebrate the fact that this doesn't happen any more. Thanks to the benefits of religion, smallpox has now been eliminated. I'm sure it must have been thanks to religion, I just can't remember which one.

Brave, wise Ranjit build temples, covered some of them in gold and also supported Hindu temples and mosques. That's how brave and wise, brave wise Ranjit was. This shows that all religions can live in peace and harmony if only someone struggles hard enough to give them as much as they can get away with all at the same time.

Sadly, when brave wise Ranjit died, it went back to business as usual between the various religions.
