Some people say they're a bad thing. Some people say they're a good thing. Some people say sometimes they're a good thing and sometimes they're a bad thing. Some people don't care.

To find out what we should think of state secrets, let's consult Jesus. What did Jesus think about state secrets? Well, being a state himself, he had the biggest secret of them all to hide: that he was really the visible bit of the Invisible Magic Friend who was just pretending to be a carpenter's son from Palestine. He told everyone not to tell anyone. This was supposed to be classified as Top Secret. Fortunately, his disciples ignored him. They blew the whistle on him being the visible bit of the Invisible Magic Friend and there was no United States to stop them.

So Jesus doesn't approve of state secrets being revealed but now that the secret's out there, hey, just go ahead and worship him.

And that is the church's official position on state secrets. I hope that's clear.
