VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Dinah|DATE|1376819684|CONTENT|The problem I find on a motorway is that you often encounter several miles of lorries all travelling in the left hand lane at a slow speed. Weaving in and out of the left hand lane in order to pass each one separately may technically be the correct thing to do, but I am not convinced it is the safest. If you are travelling behind a slow vehicle and you move out to overtake it you will take a while to build up your speed again, forcing other motorists coming behind you very fast (and usually breaking the speed limit) to brake. Whereas, if you pass all the lorries and only return to the left hand lane when you have done so, you are less of a safety hazard.

We can all be holier than thou about this sort of thing, but the truth is that the majority of motorists on motorways regularly exceed the 70MPH speed limit and are therefore in no position to claim the moral high ground about middle-lane hoggers.

(I now go to take cover from the storms of protest I anticipate will be coming my way.)
