VERSION|0.5.1|SUBJECT|June Clemmies |CONTENT|OK, it's a bit late - I always seemed to have better things to do this summer.

Rev Dr Dr Prof David Wilkinson got the ball rolling with one of those regular "look-how-great-Christianity's-been-for-women's-rights" sermons.

The Bishop of Liverpool waxed lyrical about Catholics and Protestants actually being able to tolerate one another in the same sectarian school. That's right, two slightly different Christians sects SHARING THE SAME SCHOOL! I mean, it's just incredible isn't it?

Rev Dr Dr Prof David Wilkinson took a second shot by having a go at some crazy people who think their memories can be resurrected by science some time in the future. Who'd believe anything as crazy as that?

Akhandadhi Das made the perfectly reasonable argument that, if the CIA can monitor everything that happens in the world, then so can the Invisible Magic Friend. Therefore karma and reincarnation exist.

Akhandadhi Das wasn't content with a single try either. Somehow or other, the Co-op listing on the stock exchange is exactly like the worthiness of good deeds. He then proceeded to list the worthiness of various human endeavours in almost exactly the wrong order of worthiness.

Rhidian Babbling Brook babbled about Superman, Jesus and Syria, or something.

Fairly predictably, Bishop Tom Butler complained about the Girl Guides wickedly not promising to love the Invisible Magic Friend any more.

Difficult this one. I think I'm going to eliminate Babbling Brook. Entertaining as his babbling was, I don't think it's Clemmie material.

As I said, Tom Butler's contribution was predictable.

James Jones is a definite contender. His obvious pride that Catholics and Protestants could actually be educated in the same building, completely blinded him as to why this shouldn't be such an achievement in the first place.

Prof Dr Dr David Wilkinson has to be in there too. The "look-how-great-Christianity's-been-for-women's-rights" meme gets a regular outing, but it's always nice to hear it again. His "aren't-people-crazy-to-believe-in-having-their-mind-resurrected" was genuinely original.

That leaves Akhandadhi Das. I liked the comparison of the CIA/NSA to the Invisible Magic Friend. And the Hindu wrong order of worthy deeds pretty much gets to the root of why religion causes so much trouble.

I think the wrong order of worthiness takes it. I therefore infallibly declare that June's winner is Akhandadhi Das.|CATEGORIES|47|IP-ADDRESS|94.168.119.214|DATE|1376811609|CREATEDBY|admin
