VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Tesh|DATE|1378286567|CONTENT|@Graham - and only one of those two mentions the 'displaced persons theme - I presume reference to flight into Egypt; as far as I can see purely so that Matthew can write - "Out of Egypt have I called my son". He's quoting Hosea Chap 11 verse 1. he does not go on to say that God is having a good old grouse about this in verse 2! In any other kind of writing this would be known as dishonesty, taking words out of context, special pleading etc!
the real problem for me was not this but the Panglossian view of the world. Unfortunately it is not only the 'good' and the heartbroken who want babies but those who wish new babies to carry on their ghastly sectarian divides and wars for yet another generation and will socialise them into doing so.
I fear for a future in which all those truly displace and traumatised children of the world, all the boy soldiers who have been brutalised, all the tormented 'exorcised' children reach their still tormented and half-demented adulthood.
ps@dinah - so agree with everything you said on Saturday - the appalling complexity of it all. |EMAIL|lornacrossman@yahoo.co.uk|IP-ADDRESS|86.142.185.192|MODERATIONFLAG|
