VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|andym|DATE|1379070885|CONTENT|What a disappointment. Barely outside of the orbit of Pluto. That's about as profound and exciting as proudly announcing that you've got outside London because you're no longer in the congestion charging zone.

The Solar System, as has been established, stretches out beyond the Oort Cloud, and ultimately the "sphere of influence" of the Sun can be thought of as stretching to 2 light years, which is about the limit of where we can capture comets from. Beyond that and (assuming you've gone in the right direction) you're in Alpha Centauri's metaphorical back garden.

Sorry but I won't be impressed by our travelling capabilities until something we have built has *genuinely* gone outside the sphere of influence of Old Sol. That of course is not likely to happen during the my expected lifetime.
