VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Alun|DATE|1380651019|CONTENT|I never thought I would say this, but: well done, Mona! Someone being honest about this, for a change, who isn't an atheist. Obviously, to leave behind these bronze age superstitions from the middle east (all of them, not just Islam); t'is a consummation devoutly to be wished. But actually it would take less than this, just would take a real reformation of islam to achieve most of it. A dropping of the ridiculous idea that everything in the Q'uran is to be taken literally, an acceptance that it was a document of its time, and some (perhaps most) is not even original. Even what is original may no longer be acceptable.

Given that there are very many genuinely decent people who had the misfortune to be born into a muslim tradition (and there are, I know a number myself), who are heartily sickened by what is done by some devout believers in their religion, it seems to me that the worse these terrorists are, the more they hasten such a reformation.|EMAIL|alunap@mac.com|IP-ADDRESS|86.154.49.167|MODERATIONFLAG|
