Nobody ever says left-handers and others, or lovers of cheese and others, because these things are meaningless (unless you are trying to make a point about left-handedness or cheezaphilia).

His lack of an explicit reason for doing this only highlights his implicit reason, which is that he thinks the groups are different and he wants to say so. Presumably what stops him is that last remaining part of his intellect that still works rationally, the bit that realises that a statement of that sort is immediately ripped to shreds by evidence and logic.
