VERSION|0.5.1|NAME|Steve|DATE|1386067530|CONTENT|Egregious nonsense from Anne this morning, so no change there. With her you are always forced into the lies / stupidity debate which of these is it, as it cant reasonably be anything else.

The interests of the child are paramount. At what point does she assume that this statement necessarily EXCLUDES the idea that the best interests of a child lie within a family? What the statement implies is that family life will be maintained and encouraged if and only if that family life is in the childs best interests, but that if it is in the childs interest to stay in a family situation, that is precisely what will happen. What it rejects is the idea that family life will be maintained purely for the sake of the parents. It completely fails to imply what she needed for her argument, that somehow the (western) world has forgotten about families. Social work very often looks to extended families to provide support for children. In my experience I know of three children who have been brought up by their grandparents in lieu of their parents, at the behest of social workers.

Also, extra kudos for saying black when she meant (I assume) African. Clearly black and African are the same thing in Annes (Godfrey Blooms) world.|IP-ADDRESS|217.36.222.79|MODERATIONFLAG|
