It sounds like you've been through a pretty awful experience too with the Dr+lawyer brigade.

Terry lost out on compensation because it took us two years to find a doctor who would perform any kind of test to show that Terry's pain was real. In the meantime, his own lawyer didn't believe him and basically threatened us with their costs if he didn't abandon his claim. There was no way we could have afforded to pay that bill, so he was forced to abandon his claim for compensation.

Despite the evidence of multiple scans, it has been a constant battle to prove to the authorities that Terry suffers the level of pain that he does. Here in the UK, the government gives you fixed term awards. After that, you must prove all over again that you are entitled to a further award. On nearly every occasion, the gov initially rejects his claim and it goes to appeal. Previous appeals have always upheld Terry's claim, but this one chose not to.

We've managed to buy a 13 year old used vehicle with a ramp, so Terry can at least get around a bit at the moment. We were kind of relying on that being replaced when the appeal was successful, which of course it hasn't been.

I'm beginning to think we gave them too much information. The more information you give a lawyer the more opportunity they have to pick holes in things.

I feel a huge mixture of rage, despair and frustration right now. Even if we can get this decision set aside, which is unlikely, it will take us many more months to do it.|IP-ADDRESS|92.236.214.196|MODERATIONFLAG|
